The Author
Donald Edge, author of Circle of Time

Donald Edge

Donald Edge is a fine jeweller with four decades of experience. His fascination with the hoop earring — its ancient origins, its cultural power, its enduring place in human adornment — is the heart of this book, tracing back to a 2011 commission to create diamond hoop earrings for Sade’s* world tour.

Circle of Time is published on 30th June 2027, with the official global launch at the prestigious Frankfurt Book Fair, October 2027.

The Book

A circle has no beginning, and no end

Every hoop holds a story — of our ancestor's love and longing, identity and belonging, carried through time in an unbroken circle, every page leads with the meaning, the people, the secret histories.

From Cleopatra to the catwalk, from sailors' gold to the icons of soul and pop, the hoop earring has circled human history for thousands of years. Circle of Time is the first book to tell that whole story — richly illustrated, meticulously researched, and written to be treasured.

Donald Edge draws on four decades of fine jewellery knowledge for Unicorn Publishing Group.

Cancellation & Returns Policy

Classic Edition

As a standard, non-personalised item, orders for the Classic Edition can normally be cancelled within 14 days of receipt under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, without giving a reason. To cancel, contact [email protected]. Once we've received the returned item in its original condition, we'll refund you within 14 days.

If any edition arrives faulty or damaged, contact us at [email protected] with your order details and, where possible, a photo. We will arrange a replacement or refund.
